pm2pm Knowledge Sharing
Objective & Scope
Our organization has the opportunity to enhance its learning agenda by addressing existing skills needs of our Product Managers that have gone unmet, and applying lessons learned from industry leaders and best practices:
Over the last three years, the Digital Discovery & Acceleration Team has led the design, development, delivery and tracking of all PM training needs within our organization.
In response to EX surveys, we propose a plan to deliver a program that meets ongoing and emerging training needs.
Discovery
USCD’s learning culture stagnates around a fixed and not a growth mindset – Instead of identifying challenges as growth opportunities, they are viewed as problems that need to be dealt with:
A recent PM survey revealed unmet skills needs that impede PMs from successful execution in their roles.
Among gaps are hard and soft skills that include analytics capabilities, understanding collaboration tools, technical and agile training, influencing, storytelling and problem-solving skills.
By implementing a new strategy informed by competitive research and internal needs analysis, we are in a position to evolve and deliver for both our customers and our colleagues:
Rejuvenate our learning culture by implementing a new approach and best practices modeled after Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Slack.
Recruit Learning Champions to join Chapters and Culture Squads and organize and deliver game changing workshops and events.
Build out new Degreed Pathways that address the pain points and unmet needs of our PMs revealed in a recent EX survey.
